In 2000 and 2001, MAGIC joined forces with two other local youth organizations, the Juvenile Justice Commission, and Together As One, and as a team effort worked together to clean up twenty city blocks of Camden’s Cooper Landing neighborhood. In addition to providing manpower, MAGIC also helped the cause by collecting donations of trash bags, gloves, shovels and rakes to assist in the monumental clean-up.
Blair Hornstine and MAGIC collaborated with the Juvenile Justice Commission and Together As One again, when the three organizations joined The Camden Learning Collaborative to help renovate a neglected community center and create a brand new community children’s library. Together the four groups installed new carpet, fresh paint, and even new furniture. They planted flowers outside, and even provided some books and supplies. Blair Hornstine even recruited a local company to donate free computers for the community center library.
